How did you meet?
We met at a bar, naturally in Sydney while we were both living there 6 years ago. We had our first date at a Jamaican restaurant, the food was spicy and the tequila flowed and the rest is history.

When and where did you get married?
We got married on September 7th, 2019. It was an unnaturally warm and beautifully sunny, spring day in Queenstown at a beautiful venue facing the rugged Otago mountains and nestled on the Kawarau River.

What was the theme/aesthetic of your big day?
We didn’t have a theme as such, but we went for a minimalist, eclectic wintery feel. We wanted a moody day with clean colours, our colours were deep reds, burgundy and brass.

What was the biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding?
Our biggest source of inspiration was definitely Queenstown and the landscape itself. We both love the mountains and the cosy wintery feel so we escape to them as much as we can.

The most memorable moment from your day:
The most memorable part of the day, gosh there are so many – flying up to Cecils peak with my husband and having that time to ourselves with a bottle of champagne. Taking it all in was so special.

The biggest hit on the dance floor was:
We had a live band with a saxophonist
No diggity – Blackstreet was definitely the biggest hit of the night.

 We honeymooned in:
We had a matemoon with our friends in Queenstown for a week, wineries, snowboarding and eating glorious food.

Did you always have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?
I always knew I liked the idea of two dresses. But I had no idea if it was possible. Having a winter wedding helped me with narrowing down the types of dresses I could wear. I wanted the big dress for the ceremony and the slim dress with a split for the reception/party dress. The idea was a starting point for which Trish created my dream dress.
