This year, we celebrated our two year wedding anniversary back in Queenstown, staying at Kamana Lakehouse. Straight after our Queenstown wedding, this is where we came for our mini-moon, so returning felt like a full circle moment!

Queenstown will always have a special place in our hearts. It’s where everything began for us as a married couple, and coming back two years on felt like a chance to slow down, reflect and reconnect.

Kamana Lakehouse is the kind of place that instantly helps you switch off. The lake and mountain views are stunning, but it’s also just really easy to be there. Mornings were slow, coffee in hand, looking out over Lake Wakatipu. Evenings were spent enjoying good food and a glass of wine at Nest Kitchen & Bar, watching the sun go down. We also made time to book the outdoor soak tubs, which was such a nice way to relax together and properly unwind.

What we love about Kamana is that it works whether you want to explore Queenstown or simply stay put and enjoy the facilities. Everything you need for a romantic staycation is right there, without feeling overdone or forced.

Revisiting the place where we mini-mooned reminded us how important it is to create these moments together, even after the wedding day has passed.
