How did you meet?
We met through one of my bridesmaids, she introduced us during a night out where Ryan thought he could impress me, but ended up being the other way around haha and then we somehow after that kept bumping into each other and realised we couldnt avoid the spark we had towards each other!
When and where did you get married?
27th Jan 2023 at Mudbrick, Waiheke Island.
What was the theme/aesthetic of your big day?
I feel like we had no theme to be honest, we knew we wanted intimate and romantic!
What was the biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding?
I feel like we pulled inspiration from so many different Pinterest boards haha, I was obssessed with curved arches and hanging garden installations so we really wanted to decorate around these two big installs, we wanted classic greens & whites, while including pops of colour with my bridesmaids in hot pink.
The most memorable moment from your day:
Every moment was so memorable including the torrential weather you don’t expect in Jan, ha, but I think it would have to be reading the vows I wrote to Ryan. I have always been the most nervous public speaker but reading these out I felt so calm & ease telling him how much he meant to me. Also, surprising Ry with our doggo down the isle, think he cried more seeing her than me!
The biggest hit on the dance floor was:
Our first dance remix to hot in here by Nelly... Trish made my gown a mini which Ryan ripped off in the middle of the song! It was the funniest iconic moment and our guests didn’t expect that at all. So many laughs.
We honeymooned in:
Fiji! Escaped the rain for some sunshine.
Did you always have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?
I always knew I would go for something custom, I tried on so many dresses and nothing felt like me. I knew Trish understood my style and what I could vision. I wanted tulle EVERYWHERE but still fitted enough to show my shape which with tulle is not easy haha. From the minute i saw the sketch I knew that was it.
