Tell us the story of how you met your partner
Adam and I met on Hinge in Chicago. We had so many similarities, we were both 26, from Indianapolis area, went to Indiana University, and worked at EY as consultants. We had our first date at a cute restaurant called Gemini in Chicago and stayed and laughed and talk for hours.
Tell us about the proposal story…
We were in LA for a friends wedding but we're planning to stay the week to spend some time in California. The following week, we drove to Malibu and he proposed on the beach with a photographer! We celebrated with dinner at Geoffrey's and had the most magical night. He wrote down what he wrote when he asked me to marry him so I could have it forever.
What was your biggest source of inspiration when planning your wedding? Did you have a specific theme/aesthetic?
I wanted to wedding to feel classy and timeliness, but most importantly fun! I wanted guests to feel personal touches and what represented us. Boutique, and of course my dresses, designed by the incredible Trish.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day?
The two most memorable moments
1)dancing to our first dance Song "Dancing in the Moonlight" and then having all of our guests join in. You could really feel all their love and joy for us.
2) reading our vows in front of everyone. I was so nervous but my husband kept me calm and it was really a beautiful moment that we got to share all of our love in front of our family and friends
Tell us the story behind your dress
I had always pictured I would have a "clean" wedding gown. When I saw the Odette, I knew I needed to try it on. It was the first dress me and all my family could feel it was the one. It was the first one of the day I tried on and nothing came close to how I felt in it. I loved my wedding dress so much, it is so beautiful.
Did you have a honeymoon after the big day? If so, where did you go?
We went to Naples, FL and stayed at the Ritz Carlton right after the wedding.
What piece of advice would you give to future brides who are planning their special day?
It all works out, all the stress and decision making is worth it. It truly was the most magical day of my life.
What does it feel like to be a Trish Peng bride?
I felt beautiful in my Odette gown. Trish also always answered all of my questions when I met her in person. She is truly the sweetest and it was an honour to be a Trish Peng bride.
