The ultimate Auckland Staycation

Last week Tim and I celebrated our one-year anniversary. We wanted to do something truly special, and what better way to mark the occasion than a luxurious staycation at the stunning InterContinental Auckland? Nestled in the heart of the city with breathtaking waterfront views, it was the perfect escape—ideal for a honeymoon, anniversary, or even just a relaxing night away! From the moment we arrived, we were super spoilt. It was exactly what we needed and more. After checking in at the InterContinental Auckland, we settled into our spacious suite, which instantly felt like heaven! The room was stunning, with a cozy king-sized bed overlooking the harbour where I instantly popped on a robe and sat back to enjoy the view and some reality TV while Tim watched sport in the lounge. One of the highlights of the suite for me was the luxurious bathroom, complete with a large soaking tub where I could also sit back with a wine and watch the TV!

One of the standout features of our stay was the exclusive access to the Club Lounge, where we were spoiled from morning to night. The lounge offered everything we needed to feel pampered, including a delicious breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, and afternoon drinks with canapés—all included in our stay. This really took the stress out of wondering what to eat and allowed us to enjoy our stay without even having to leave!

To top off the relaxation, we indulged in an in-room massage service. Tim and I both enjoyed blissful treatments right in the comfort of our suite. It was the perfect way to unwind together, leaving us refreshed and recharged for the evening ahead.

On our final night we had a romantic dinner at Advieh, known for its middle-eastern cuisine. The food here was incredible! The standout dish for me was the lamb neck dish—a must try if you visit! The entire dining experience was unforgettable, the perfect ending to our anniversary celebration.
