Our Process
When ordering your wedding dress, we have a few options to cater for everyone's needs;
Collections, Customisations and Bespoke Custom.
Collections
Any dress purchased from our collections is made to order in a standard size. Alterations are additional to the price of the dress. We offer an alterations service with packages that range from $950. Fittings will be with our fitting specialist in our other fitting room which you can access down the driveway through the Yours Truly doors.
If you are getting a dress from our collections, we recommend placing an order at least 6 months before your wedding date - this just ensures that we have enough time for production and alterations. We can make dresses in a shorter time frame, however, this may incur a rush fee.
Customisations
We offer customisations on our collection dresses.
For example: changing a neckline from a round neck to a V-neck or swapping a fitted skirt to an A-line skirt or changing the fabric or lace. A quote can be provided upon request. Alterations are additional
Bespoke
For our bespoke wedding dresses, Trish works with the bride to design their dream dress, creating a completely custom gown. Trish only has the capacity to create 20 bespoke dresses a year. These fully custom dresses are made to the client's measurements, the price includes all alterations and allows for fluctuation in size. This process includes a mock-up of the dress in a calico/cotton fabric to ensure you are happy with the design and fit before we start on the real dress in your chosen fabric. We have around 3 to 5 fittings with you leading up to your big day.
Our custom dresses are made right here in New Zealand you will receive a copy of your sketch in a custom-bound Trish Peng folder upon collection of your dress.
We recommend that brides to start this process at least 8 to 12 months before their big day as bespoke designs require specialty fabrics to be ordered and multiple fittings.
To confirm your dress we take a 70% deposit, the remaining balance is due at your first fitting. Any additional costs must be paid before the final fitting. Payment must be received before any work commences and payment is accepted either by bank deposit, cash or credit card payment. Arrangements of payments can also be paid in instalments until the balance is cleared, full payment must be made before collection - Please enquire if you would like to do so.
Alterations can be done by our team or you can make your own arrangements if preferred. Clients are usually booked in for their first fitting around 6-8 weeks before their wedding date as many brides will change size leading up to their big day. Typically around 2-3 fittings are required to ensure the perfect fit.
All Trish Peng clients receive a garment bag for their wedding dress. Custom brides receive a personalised garment bag with their name embroidered complimentary as part of the custom process, however, any bride can also receive this service for an additional $50. Please enquire with us at your first fitting if you would like to arrange this.
