How you met: We met almost 9 years ago through Jono's brother and our mutual friends when I was studying at university and Jono was working in Australia.

When and where you got married: We got married on Saturday 5 December 2020, what we liked to call Wedding 2.0. Our original wedding date was set for April 4th and three weeks out we had to make the call to postpone. Celebrating our wedding in December was even more special after what had been a pretty crazy year.

We decided to get married at Kaitlyn's family home, it seemed like the perfect location with beautiful views of rolling hills and Mt Pirongia in the distance - it just didn't compare to anything we had looked at.

The theme/aesthetic for your big day: We wanted a relaxed style wedding in the country with elegance but without the formality. Claire from One Lovely Day was the mastermind behind it all. We went for soft hues, delicate lighting, and plenty of florals - with the talented Shaye from On My Hand creating some unique hero pieces for us.

The biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding: Instagram for sure. Countless nights were spent getting lost on the small squares.

The most memorable moment from your day: Definitely walking into the Marquee. After having been away for a couple of hours for photos we couldn't wait to get back to see everyone. It was one of those pinch yourself moments, all our favourite people in one place, one of the only times in your life when that will happen. It was the most extraordinary feeling.

Tell us about the search for your dress: I thought I knew exactly what I wanted - something very simple with long sleeves from Trish's collection. After my first three fittings I wasn't falling in love with what I had chosen. I had been spending a lot of time on instagram still searching for my dream dress yet I had no idea what I was actually looking for. After falling in love with an off the shoulder style with simple details of a sheer bodice and separate top I knew I had found it. Trish, Ashleigh and Sidath then helped me to bring the design to life & make it my own. Seeing Trish hand sketch out my thoughts and show me the design on the IPad gave me reassurance that we were all on the same page and she saw what I saw. With my ever changing mind, I was still making changes both big and small right up to the week before the wedding - we re-designed the bodice, and the top and changed the fabric to a gorgeous silk organza....little bit crazy being so close however nothing was ever a problem, and I totally ended up with my dream dress. It really was the best experience - I'd love to do it all again!

The biggest hit on the dance floor was: Hard to choose one, but once the spare microphone came out and the bridesmaids got a hold of the music I would have to say it was anything ABBA.

The Honeymoon: With our wedding being so close to the summer holidays we decided to spend the break with our family and friends and holiday at Kaitlyn's family Bach in the Coromandel. We have a family wedding next year in Queenstown and we are planning on taking a wee break then.
