How did you and your husband meet?
Tim and I first met more than 12 years ago when a mutual friend introduced him at my 21st birthday. Our paths crossed again in 2016 backstage at NZ Fashion Week. Subsequently, we reconnected on the dating app Hinge in 2021 and ended up spending lockdown together. The rest, as they say, is history.

When and where did you get married?
08.12.2023 at a private estate in Queenstown called Colpo Di Fulmine, which translates to 'Love at first sight' in Italian. Also the name of our latest bridal collection.

What was the theme/aesthetic of your big day?
Timeless, classic and elegant. Our venue was already so beautiful and felt like we were in Italy, so for us it was just complimenting it with white, soft blush pink flowers and greenery.

What was the biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding?
Instagram & Pinterest were the best platforms to get ideas from and create your own mood board for what you want your wedding day to look like.
We worked closely with our wedding planners One Fine Day who understood our vision and executed the styling of every detail.

THE FIRST LOOK

Tim always said he envisioned me in a fitted, beaded gown for our wedding, so I played into that so I could surprise him with my ceremony gown.

Did you always have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?
I’ve been lucky enough to dress more than 1500 beautiful brides in my career, and have often caught myself musing over what I’d dream up for my own wedding. In many ways, it’s felt like every scribble here, sketch there and ounce of inspo I’ve mentally stored away in between, has been building to this very moment. I’ve just been waiting for the right person to share it with. I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle in something that felt like a truly, once-in-a-lifetime number, but I had so many ideas for my dress, I couldn’t pick just one. Six is a fashion show, two’s not enough, so four was the magic number. To say I felt pressure to wear the perfect dress is a bit of an understatement, it was always everyone’s first question. But if it would ever feel overwhelming, I always came back to what was most important, and that was Tim and I coming together for the happiest day of our lives.

The ceremony ball gown, adorned with individually hand-placed 3D flowers, dotted amongst the finest beading and small pearls for a touch of sparkle - a labour of love that took my team more than 600 hours to make.

THE RECEPTION

Reception Dress - Custom hand beaded Trish Peng Gown

Suit - Custom Italian T.Begg Tailoring

As day turns to night, our first dance as husband and wife, was a short and sweet dance to Percy Sledge’s classic, When a Man Loves a Woman.

PARTY TIME

A fourth and final outfit change - party-ready in a custom Trish Peng soft blush mini - bottomless Moët & Chandon champagne, and a late-night McDonalds delivery of 100 crowd-pleasing burgers, was the perfect end to the best day we could have asked for. It’s like nothing has changed, but everything has changed. We are a unit now and forever, and we couldn’t be happier.
